MY VERY OWN BASS PLAYER

It's my blog and I can brag if I want to, brag if I want to, brag if I want to, you would brag too if he belonged to you! Introducing my son, Jared, a Jazz Performance major and Graduate Assistant at FSU

He will soon finish and be off into the real world. This is a photo taken at his final recital a few weeks ago.
He has made mama and daddy so proud

He has worked so hard, graduated with honors in his Bachelors, and has kept a 3.9 GPA or better during his masters.

He will be auditioning for the
Air Force R & B Band in Va. soon...I have mixed feelings, but want what's best for my 6'2" baby. Please say a little prayer. Thanks for listening, I needed that! Oh! Did I say I am soooo proud!!??

Old Adding machine paper rolls...beautiful! Donated from my husband's job 20 years ago...they've been sitting in a box for all these years...finally, I thought it was time to use them. My art students used the paper to make streamers for dancing...what? you don't dance with streamers?? The streamers were lots of fun, but the leftover empty paper rolls were what made me dance!

Recently a Folk Art Pottery friend asked me to share her Antique Mall booth. I was ecstatic! This mall is very select and it's very difficult to acquire a booth there. It's large and could take hours to see the entire  mall, but her booth is right near the front...prime real estate!
I was faced with the task of creating something that would compliment her art and still be true to my creativity. So I came up with Plunder Junk Angels. Making angels from junk is not a new idea, I know, but I don't think there are any quite like these anywhere in the mall. I used some of the tiny clay face pendants she creates as some of the angels' faces, but mostly they are total junk finds.
I used to get into trouble as a little girl for my plundering. I still recall my Granny's scolding when I was around 6 or so for plundering in her attic. I guess this *junkingitis* was kicking in way back then...it's the hunt that is the most fun sometimes, right? Anyway, that is why I called them Plunder Junk Angels. I also placed some of my garden totems in the booth, but it is the angels that really stand out.

DUNCAN, MY GARDENING SHADOW

HAPPINESS IS A BUBBLE MACHINE

FOR MY BIRTHDAY, A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, I WAS GIVEN A BUBBLE MACHINE...A REAL GROWN UP GIFT, DON'T YA THINK?
I LOVE TO WORK IN MY GARDEN AND TURN ON THE BUBBLES! DUNCAN IS STILL NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THOSE FLOATY THINGS.
