TRASH TO PLEASURES

I know you have all been missing my randomness...
So here goes on a few trash finds
and
pleasure times...

This girl loves a good curb find...

AHHHHHHH...WOODEN HANGERS!!!

I'm trying to arrange them on the wall next to my Laundry closet, but so far every time I try they just look like a bunch of hangers spread out on the wall. I need something else with them...I'ma thinkin' on that one.

All these hangers were found in one of my curbside shopping adventures. I sort of stalked the Estate sale I bought my dining room suite from and when the time was right, I pounced on their trash!

These printing plates were in with the hangers...along with some Mustang Ranch souvenirs and rosary beads. Also several little pins of Jesus and a man's gold ring. These people had varied interests, you could tell. I hit the jackpot!

This picture is a bit blurred, but these plates seem to be made of copper.

Now in order to stay with the randomness I promised...

Crosses in a field near Roanoke Virginia
He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was on Him;
and
with His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

Jesus is the reason for the season...
have a meaningful Easter.

Can I show you something beautiful?

I wish I could claim this wonderful guy, Josh,
as one of my art students,
but I can't take that credit...
most of his talent is natural.

His brother was one of my art students,
and I work with his mother.
Fortunately for me
Josh stops in and shares his art with me.

Not only is he talented in art,
but he is a fantastic soccer player,
and an outstanding student.

He created these paintings
in his high school art class,
and to me this is proof
for the importance
of art education.

Josh will be facing major surgery this summer, so please keep him,
and his family in your prayers.
He is evidence of the
wonderful young people
all around us.

AHHHHH MASON...WHAT YOU DO TO ME!!!

I'm in love...with Mason!

Just look at that tall handsome one!
The small one's not bad to look at either.
I found my Mason jars
at an antique store that is closing soon.
I got a very good deal on them.
I also found the letters...
think I will be going back
before they close on April 30th.

For the moment the jars are just sitting on my huge $1.00 dining table.
The picture doesn't show it, but they look beautiful against the wood of this table.
We found this table at a school surplus sale.
It was that soft green color that is popular now, but Bill refinished it.
I don't use it for a dining table now,
I use it to fold clothes on, and as a work table.

Oh, and now to hold my beautiful Mason jars...

I also bought a sign at the antique store that I will show you later...it's a hoot!

It's hard to share my Masons, but what's the saying?
If you love something, let it go...
I'm going to be sharing my Masons over at
Donna is asking you to show what you do with your Mason jars...

I just love mine!

 JUST GOTTA SHARE...

NOTHING LIKE
GOOD SOUTHERN
CHURCH CHOIR MUSIC!

My 49 year old baby brother is on the back row!

ENJOY!!!

I can see your feet tapping:-)

Never a dull moment in my corner of the world.
Weekend before last, just after I left the Antique Mall
after moving into my new booth,
high winds and terrible weather struck very close to the mall.
It damaged many businesses around the mall and even blew the roof off of a nearby hotel.
Thankfully, no one was hurt and the mall was spared...that time.

Last night, GA rocked and roll with tornadoes,
high winds and thunder storms.
Along with some of the sharpest lightening most had ever seen.
The Antique Mall was not as fortunate this time.
The mall sits beside I-75 and for over 20 years had
a huge peach tower as a landmark.
That peach tower came tumbling down
last night and damaged it's namesake.
Fortunately again no one was injured there,
though 5 people died in our area from the storms.

Bill called me on his way to work after seeing the big peach tower against the mall building this morning. I was concerned all day about the people there, the damage, and of course my booth.
Praise the Lord, all is well!
There's a huge hole in the ceiling, and I am sure some people had damage to their booth, but thankfully no one was injured.
I sure hope this is the last of the excitement there!
Well, at least the scary excitement...
there was a special visitor there last week!
Here's Carson Kressley and sweet Heather...she works at the Peach.
Of course, he showed up on a day I wasn't working my booth.

So there you have it...life in the booth fast lane.
Hope the sun shines for a while!

The video is news coverage about today's storm damage at
The Big Peach Antique Mall.

Listen to the sweet southern accents:-)

SHE'S BAAAAACK!!!

I can't believe I didn't post this earlier!!
Especially when you have all been so kind to ask about Gypsy today,
and so many showed concern for her yesterday.

She came home!

She was gone for close to 15 hours,

but she came home!

She scratched at the backdoor
last night around 10pm...
wet, dirty,
cold and hungry.
She was also covered in snails.
So wherever she ran off to and hid out
was swampy.
Wish she could tell us all about her adventure!

She was glad to be home, but acted like it was really no big deal that she was gone all day.

My facebook page has been so full of comments and well wishes, and I have answered so many questions about her that I just forgot to make a post on the good news here.

Thank you all for your sweet concern and emails!
All the worry seems silly with all the tragedy going on in our world, but we love that little dog!
Even Violet the cat loves her...
Not the best photo, but you can feel the love.

A heart is not judged by how much you love, but how much you are loved by others...The Wizard
From Gypsy and from me...
Thank You for your prayers and interest in our little spot of the world.
