I Shutter!

Got 'em!

I sure did!
I brought home a truckload of old screens,
shutters and a few doors too.
Even brought home an old, chippy, potty chair!
Wonder how many little bottoms graced this precious chair...

I felt so greedy!
So, I didn't get any windows
or the little green child's chair...
(the chair was green, not the child.)

After we arrived home I realized
I also didn't get one of the doors
I really wanted either...

I think with all the loading
and
securing down of all the pieces,
I just neglected to get the last door.
We had already taken half of the freebies off the truck when I made this photo.
Oh well, I got enough and more may come along.
Just feast your eyes on all that beautiful crackling, chipping paint...sigh

Now for the pièce de résistance;
the icing on the craigslist free stuff cake;
the tower of piza
and
the smile on the Mona Lisa...
YOU READY?

Isn't she lovely?

Isn't she wonderful?
Can you read the label to see what she is?
This is her beautiful back all covered with cobwebs.
She's a cabinet made to store lace.
Not sure, but maybe those metal clamp like pieces were for wrapping the lace around. I love the way they look...love that junky stuff you know.

See the lace inside the drawer markers? Beautiful!!

When we've cleared all the dirt dauber houses out
and
all the cobwebs
and
dirt are gone,
I am going to glaze her and seal her, I think.
Basically, leave her just as she is now, only better.
I really like the old lace in the markers
and
we even found a few pieces inside.
I know I said it before, but...
Isn't she lovely?

The folks who gave us all these precious things today we're just good people!
They wanted nothing more than to make sure others got some use out of these things,
and
to save them from being destroyed.

As for the Lace Cabinet,
it wasn't listed for free,
but he gave it to me because
I was so taken with it.
Just good people!

God is in everything,
even craigslist freebies.

Y'all have a blessed week!

Windows, Toilets and Giraffes...
OH MY!

What a beautiful day
here in my little corner of Georgia.
Today we worked outside preparing the garden for future planting.
We cleaned the dead leaves
from several clematis vines,
and
cleaned the KOI pond.

I do believe the fish were glad to see us!

They eat very little during the winter
and
look like little floating statues
as they sit in the icy water.
So today after their pond was sparkling,
they had a feast of pellets and bread.
Old bread is their favorite treat.
The waterfall on our pond...it still needs a little work.

While readying a shelf for my resale booth,
I took a rest
and
admired my stained glass window.

It hangs on the end of my porch
and
some days the sun shines
through in such a beautiful way.

I bought the window from my friend, Randy.
He goes to auctions and sales
and
has a barn full of treasures.

Just walking in the door to that barn
brings tears to my eyes.

Sometimes he calls
and
invites me to barn shop,
and
off I go.

Do you need a really good laugh?

Are we classy folks or what?

One of my garden benches...
all rusty, swirly and made of iron.
I love it!

The toilet is not usually there,
and
no, it is not now a planter in my garden.

Bill placed it there a few months ago
as he repaired it,
and
it caught my eye as a funny shot.
Just ran across it again in my pictures.

It is hilarious to me!

It always cracks me up to see a toilet sitting by the road for pick up,
and
on a bench was even funnier.

This one is back in it's original spot,
but
it sure was funny on that bench!

Well, how about some giraffes...
these will be after your heart!

Just for fun the classes that I had on Valentines Day created giraffes with heart faces.

We did a play on words and instead of...
You're After My Heart,
we said ...
Giraffe-ter My Heart.

There were some scary ones!

Some kissy lip ones...

And some cute ones, that were later all colored with fabulous colors.

 Wish me luck tomorrow...

I found these on craigslist
and
I am going to get them tomorrow!

Will probably take two trips...I am being a bit greedy.

They are FREE!!

My plans are to close in an old shed with some of them and
use the rest for my resale booth...
did I say they are
FREE?!

WooHOOOOOOOooooOOOOO!!!

Sorry to be all over the place with this post,
but ya know me...random and rambling.

Have the most blessed Sunday...

I HEART JUNK!

WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?

YOU MAKE MY HEART RACE...
MY BREATH IS A SIGH.

THERE'S NO OTHER PLACE
THAT GETS ME SO HIGH.

I LOVE YOU,
I DO!

YOU COMPLETE ME,
IT'S TRUE!

SWEET JUNK,
QUITE SIMPLY...

THERE'S NOTHING LIKE YOU!

 Hold your applause, please!
I know my Valentine poem is sad.

A bit too much, but this is some of my junky stuff that I love. I move it around here and there all over my house...The big rusty wire basket of  hydrangeas is sitting on my fireplace now. The blue tool caddy is sitting on another table.
I'm linking up to Donna's Funky Junk...
head on over!

Think I'll link to Modern Country Style also...she's having an English Garden Party. While my garden is not yet in bloom, I do have the dried hydrangeas in this post and I am dreaming of blooms to come. Visit her beautiful blog!
